Training class set this weekend

Locked and Loaded Training Center will be hosting a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events class and Stop the Bleed training from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 8.

Though the classes are free, registration is required since classes are limited to 15 people.

These courses are ideal for individuals, church safety teams, educators and anyone interested in enhancing their preparedness and emergency response skills.

The classes share knowledge of how to protect oneself and other during active shooter situations using the proven Avoid, Deny and Defend strategy. This course covers the history and frequency of active shooter events, strategies for civilian response and survival and practical steps to improve personal and group safety.

During Stop the Bleed individuals will gain hands-on training in emergency bleeding control techniques. The course will teach how to use tourniquets and pressure techniques effectively, how to respond quickly to lifethreatening bleeding injuries and how to save lives during critical moments.
