Santa Claus is coming to town as Dublin kicks off the Christmas season with the annual lighted parade at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9.
As in years past, the festive parade will start gathering at the memorial stadium (at 5:15 p.m.) and, once it gets dark, will head down Travis, turning left to pass through downtown. Those participating can register as a judged or nonjudged entry with winners to be picked in a variety of commercial, noncommercial, horse & rider and vehicle categories prior to the parade.
Those wishing to enter the parade can email chamberdirector@dublintxchamber.com or text (254) 300-6263 for more information.
Downtown will offer more fun following the parade as businesses will stay open later than usual and the Dublin Market Days will be set up from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. near the Corner Lot.
Santa will be on hand to listen to the requests of Dublin’s children and take photos at the Corner Lot gazebo while those shopping and waiting in line can join in festive music being led nearby.
Mr. Claus will also be at the Chamber of Commerce office (110 S. Patrick) this Saturday at 1:30 for photos on a festive backdrop. Photos can be taken for free or the chamber can send digital photos for $2 or provide framed 4x6 photos on the spot for $10 each.
