The High School UIL One Act Play cast and crew will hold a free public performance on Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Old Jr. High Auditorium on Camden.
The play is titled THE BOOK OF EVERYTHING from the novel by Guus Kuijer and adapted by Richard Tulloch.
The play depicts the story of nine year-old Thomas, who can see things no one else can: tropical fish thriving in the Amsterdam canals, trumpeting sparrows and even a hailstorm of frogs. He also sees the unhappiness of his family, the violence in his father, and the pain that lingers long after the war is over. All this- good and bad- he carefully records in his magical and hopeful Book of Everything.
Run time is 40 minutes Audience recommendation is 9+
Students will then compete at the ZONE Contest Feb. 23rd at Hamilton Highschool, with shows starting at 1 p.m. Dublin is first to perform.
Pending advancement, DISTRICT Contest will be held March 1st at Bangs High School. Shows will begin at 10 a.m. Show order TBD.
