Chamber seeks candidates for Executive Director

Body

The Dublin Chamber of Commerce is seeking an Executive Director to helm the storied organization and lead it into a new era after Executive Director Ellisa Tiscareno announced her retirement recently.

Tiscareno pledged to stay on to lead the St. Patrick’s Day festivities and upcoming awards picnic before officially leaving the office, saying it will take effect in late April.

“I’ve really loved my time here,” Tiscareno said of her tenure that started last July after the departure of Luanne Schexnider.

Tiscareno cited personal and professional conflicts in her resignation, saying her schedule has been busier than she expected when taking the position.

During the meeting, Chamber of Commerce directors thanked Tiscareno for her involvement during a difficult time and praised some accomplishments, including getting the office moved to its new location.

Tiscareno is hopeful for success in her successor, saying that it is an enjoyable job for those that like to get out in the community and serve, and added that it would be ideal for a longtime Dublin resident who is looking for extra capital.

Chamber directors and advisors offer that this is the perfect time for fresh leadership as the developments of the last year had made it necessary to refocus how businesses and Chambers handle promotion and excite visitors and clients.

In the Chamber of Commerce ad seeking the new ED, it states that the Executive Director “serves as the liaison between the Chamber Board of Directors and the business community, local government and professional organizations.”

The position oversees the Chamber’s programs and services including daily operations, membership growth and retention, financial planning and budgeting, event planning, community advocacy and volunteer staffing.

The Chamber is also advertising that the position requires written and spoken communication skills and a hands-on knowledge of social media and technology. Individuals eligible for the Executive Director position must demonstrate the ability to perform these duties through a combination of past work experience and education.

The applicant must be a Dublin resident or have close ties to the community.

Applicants can send a cover letter and resume to Chamber President Paul Gaudette c/o The Dublin Citizen, 938 N. Patrick, Dublin, TX 76446.
