Library hosting Barks and Books

Body

Local children are invited to Barks and Books at the Dublin Public Library on Wednesday, June 29 at 2 p.m. featuring the story of Annie the Therapy Dog from Annie’s Therapeutic Companions.

The goal of Annie’s Therapeutic Companions is to bring hope of life, encouragement, comfort, peace and joy to each individual, no matter the setting.

Founder Lyndi, her helpers and her therapy animals strive to make a positive impact on the individual’s physical, cognitive, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Their volunteer animal therapy teams serve and motivate individuals in their therapy or learning environments and bridge communication gaps with the medical staff, teachers or other providers.

Annie’s Therapeutic Companions also educates the general public, healthcare professionals, educators and facility leaders on the opportunities and benefits of Animal Assisted Therapy. The organizations has made it their goal that at each and every facility visited, their teams are reaching out to each and every star member, all the patients and every family member.

Everyone is welcome to attend, but parents wanting their child to read to Annie need to sign up by calling (254) 445-4141.
