Dublin Jr. High One Act Play members took the district championship for the third time on Thursday, Dec. 2nd at Bangs High School against Brock Jr. High and Bangs Jr. High. Dublin placed first, under the direction of Pam Kasinger, for their staging of “The Book of Dog” by Jiggs Burgess, a brand new play, and this was its first ever production for competition. Bangs placed 2nd and Brock placed 3rd. Students will have an encore performance on Tuesday December 14. It will be at the Old Auditorium on N. Camden at 6 p.m. There is no charge for admission. Multiple students won awards for acting including:
■ Addison Ivie - Best Performer in the role of Olivia
■ Matthew Gould - All Star Cast in the role of Marvin, (the dog)
■ Derek Ivey - All Star Cast in the role of Elison
■ Vanessa Gonzalez - Honorable Mention in the role of Jackie
■ Victor Ruiz - Honorable Mention in the role of Bill, Tommy, Ensemble
■ Karen Ortiz - Honorable Mention in the role of Bobby, Anna, Ensemble
