Heritage fest this Saturday

This weekend marks the return of the Hispanic Heritage Festival hosted by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, offering a full day of live entertainment, food and fun at the Dublin City Park.

Although scheduling complications resulted in the cancellation of the Christ Across Cultures event on Sunday, this year’s festival offers the return of many fan favorites and the addition of new attractions.

The kickoff will begin all around town on Friday, Sept. 30 though as customers can enter for gift baskets at select businesses; businesses will compete in the best window decorations; live entrainment will be available at local businesses and live music will be on tap for Lucky Vines, Red Barrel and The Deer Lease.

The festival day fun will carry out from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the city park and features a wealth of fun. Organizers reported there were 35 vendors scheduled as of Monday and plenty of things for kids to do including piñata busting, bounce houses and more.

Alcohol will be for sale during the event, but will only be served to guests 21 and older, wearing an official wrist band and no coolers are allowed.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs on Saturday to take in the live entertainment and events.
