Lilly G is setting up a daylong schedule of fun and entertainment benefitting the Dublin Rodeo Heritage Association as they host a National Day of the Cowboy event in Dublin from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. on Saturday, July 27.

“National Day of Cowboy needs to be recognized by towns that recognize the cowboy lifestyle,” said Lilly G’s Rick Taylor.

National Day of the Cowboy was created in 2005 to preserve the role and contributions cowboys and cowgirls made to the Western heritage and history of our country and it is celebrated every year on the fourth Saturday in July.

Taylor is still looking for Vendors and sponsors for the celebration with plans that keep getting bigger. (Vendor space on North Park by the museum is $125 per space. For more info, call Taylor at 254-459-0151.)

The chapter of the Servant Souls nonprofit motorcycle organization is joining in to the celebration with a poker run. Entry is $20 per rider with a 50/50 split on winnings. Half will go to member Gage Nail to help with bills following an accident earlier this year. The run will start by the museum at 10 a.m. Registration is at 9 a.m.
