Simply Dangerous set for Saturday, Feb. 24

Simply Dangerous 2024 from the arena to the runway is being hosted by Lilly G Arena Productions will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Thompson Student Center Ballroom at Tarleton State University.

The event will feature the latest in western wear, dinner, live entertainment and more. VIP runway tickets are $100, 2nd row VIP tickets are $75 and general admission tickets are $40.

The event benefits Childrens Miracle Network and Cook Childrens Healthcare Foundation.

Desdemona Activity Center offering events

Attendees can enjoy several events at the Desdemona Activity Center this month.

From 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 there will be a stew supper and from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27 there will be a sewing circle.

The activity center is located at 6035 FM 8.

 

Bunco for St. Jude’s held in Deleon

There will be a Bunco for St. Jude’s fundraising event Friday, Feb. 23. Entry is $25.

At 6 p.m. there will be refreshments and the viewing of prizes. Games will start at 7 p.m. in the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church in Deleon.

Dublin Eggstravaganza plans underway

The annual Dublin Eggstravaganza planning is underway and the committee is seeking donation of candy, filled eggs and monetary donations.

This year’s event will be sponsored by Dublin Dairy Queen, the Dublin Citizen and the Stephenville Area Elk’s Lodge.

The event is set for 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 30 in the Dublin City Park.

To donate candy, please bring wrapped candy to Dairy Queen or the Dublin Citizen office. Candy needs to be able to fit inside an Easter egg. Donations of filled Easter eggs are also being accepted at these two locations.

To donate monetary donations, please stop by Dairy Queen or contact Shanna Phelps at 254-4318451 or Sarah Brennand at 817-776-2138 for the Elk’s Lodge.

 

Women’s Conference set in Comanche

“Women of Christ” is excited to announce a rare opportunity in Comanche County.

This group, representing five Comanche County Churches, is sponsoring “Choose Joy” Women’s Conference, Saturday, March 16 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church.

Attendees will experience a big city Christian praise experience in small town comfort. Come and be unified and encouraged by the love of Christ and the love of your neighbors! Texas Independence Day meal set at museum Let’s Celebrate Texas Independence Day at the Comanche County Historical Museum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3 at 402 Moorman Rd.

The museum will be serving Texas Chili and beef stew; also cornbread, crackers, and all the fixings. Hot dogs for kids, desserts, tea and water.

The beef has been generously donated by Artesian Ranch of Comanche County. The meal is by donation only. To-Go boxes are available.
