All kinds of back-to-school fun will be on tap Saturday, July 30 as the Dublin Public Library, along with many community partners, celebrates students returning to school.
The fair will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library.
One perk as part of the Back-to-School Bash will be a free splash day at the pool from noon until 5 p.m. sponsored by Kingdom Movement.
“I hope this is a fun event for everyone to celebrate the end of summer and to get what they need to go back to school,” Library Director Adina Dunn said. “It has been great to see so many people, business and organizations want to make sure that kids go back to school with confidence and be ready to learn.”
As part of the event, there will be free give-a-ways available to Dublin kids. (The winning child must be present at the event to claim the prize.) These give-a-ways include free hair-cuts from local cosmetologists who are donating their time, free backpacks and hygiene items.
These items will be distributed at the fair in lieu of school sup-plies since Dublin ISD is taking care of school supplies for students this year.
There will be free hot dogs provided by the Dublin Lions Club and free ice cream from Dublin Dairy Queen. All items are first come, first serve.
There will be several service organizations on site to help offer information to parents.
Foam will be on hand for kids to play in and first responders will be there with their rides for a “touch-a-truck” event.
As part of the event, summer readers can turn in their reading logs by 2 p.m. and receive three free books and three prizes.
