Lingleville Community Homecoming Saturday
Lingleville will be celebrating its town-wide Homecoming celebration this Saturday, Aug. 17.
There will be a fish fry at 6 p.m. at the Lingleville ISD cafeteria. Fish will be cooked by the Lingleville Volunteer Fire Department and donations to the department are appreciated.
Everyone should bring a side dish or dessert to share with your family, and an additional guest.
The event is open to anyone who has Lingleville ties. All community members are invited to attend this celebration for a growing community.
Historian, author to speak at ECGS meeting
Erath County native and author of Kenny-Colwell: The History of an Early Texas Family, Mary Jo Kenny will speak at the Dublin Public Library at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. Among the first families settling Texas in the early 1800s, these two families eventually settled in Erath County. Sharing their saga, Mary Jo’s talk offers insight into Texas life of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Erath County Genealogical Society welcomes you to attend.— submitted
