Vaccines open to all adults Monday

Body

COVID Vaccinations will become available to all adults as of Monday.

This announcement follows reports that the Erath County COVID Vaccination Center has administered more than 6,000 vaccines since they began giving them eight weeks ago and that supply has increased greatly.

Stephenville Assistant Fire Chief Chuck Elliot reported to NBCDFW on monday that the number of first doses the center receives has increased from 100 doses weekly to 1,000.

The increase led to an abundance of shots available at the center, which advertised that they would accept people from other counties willing to come to Stephenville to get the vaccine.

Following the report, Erath saw more than 1,000 new sign-ups on its online portal.

The County Center reports that shots are open to all eligible groups this week including: 50 or older, 18+ with medical conditions that increase the risk for severe COVID-19, Hospital staff, EMS, Home health, and School Nurse.

It is also open to those who work in pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools, as well as Head Start and Early Head Start programs (including teachers, staff, and bus drivers) and those who work as or for licensed child care providers, including center-based and family care providers.
