Erath County officials reported 10 new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Thursday night (Oct. 8). Eight of these new positive cases were from within the city limits of Stephenville and two were rural residents of the county.

 

The number of total cases increased by 64 in the past week, standing at 782 in the Oct. 1 report and 846 a week later. 

 

Active case grew from 86 to 117 in the past week while recovered cases increased by 33, standing at 691 on Oct. 1 and 724 in the report from Thursday night.

 

Reported deaths in patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 since March have remained at five. Two new hospitalizations were reported this week to increase the number of hospitalizations since March to 23.

 

County officials remind residents that according to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there are things everyone can do to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

-Wear a face covering in public 

-Stay six feet apart 

-Wash or sanitize hands often 

-If sick, get tested and stay at home 

-Stay home when possible
