Erath County officials reported NO NEW CASES of COVID-19 in the report from Thursday, Feb. 11 (the most recent report due to offices being closed for Presidents Day and winter weather).

Total deaths since March were reported at 62 by the Department of State Health Services.

Total COVID-19 cases increased by 40 (3,002 to 3,042) from the Feb. 4 report to Thursday night’s, while active cases decreased from 129 to 84.

Recovered cases were reported at 2,896 on Thursday, up from 2,817 a week before.

Current hospitalizations were reported at 3.

Erath County and other counties in Trauma Service Area E (the largest TSA in the state also including the counties of Tarrant, Denton, Harris and more) are being released from stricter guidelines, due to the hospitalization falling below 15% for seven consecutive days.

According to the Governor’s Executive Order 32 (GA-32), tighter restrictions are required in any TSA that is over 15% for seven days.

These restrictions include:

■ 50% maximum occupancy in restaurants, stores, office buildings, manufacturing facilities, gyms and exercise facilities and classes, museums and libraries

■ discontinuing elective surgeries

■ closing bars and similar establishments

Hospitalization in TSA E stood at 13.11% on Tuesday night after falling below 15% on Wednesday, Feb. 10 with 12.59%.
