According to the Dublin Progress and Telephone, the home of Tom W. Wilson was destroyed by a fire that destroyed everything. Fortunately, no one was in the home since the family had gone to visit a neighbor before the fire began. The estimated loss was around $1,500 or more for the home and $500 or more for the household items.

A story in the Dublin Progress featured Mr and Mrs Alonza D Kay, who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 13th. The couple celebrated their anniversary in their home with a party featuring gold decorations including a cake decorated with gold icing cut with a knife tied with a gold satin ribbon around it’s handle, relatives also presented the couple “with two floral bouquets of gold and bronze mums marigolds”. A couple’s 50 year anniversary is known as the gold anniversary.

The Dublin Progress had a special report that Santa Claus was set to visit Dublin amidst his very busy workshop schedule. Santa was going to be downtown and in stores visiting with children and asking if they had been good all year and if the answer was yes, he would ask them what they want for Christmas.

The Dublin Lady Lions won against Fort Worth Christian 63-48 which brought their basketball season record to 4-2. A photo accompanied the story featuring Sharla Taylor, Amy Thiebald and Meladee Hodges. The Lions won a game of against the Rio Vista Eagles in a close game of 61-60.
