Thursday Club celebrates 126th Anniversary

Body

The Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club celebrated their 126th anniversary with an outing on April 25. Fifteen members enjoyed this field trip.

Meeting at the First Methodist Church, the ladies carpooled to the Middle Tr i n i t y Groundwater Conversation District in Stephenville.

We were met by Stephanie Keith, head of “The Ditch” project and immediately embarked on a tour of the grounds.

A couple of years ago the group had enjoyed a program by Stephanie when this project was just getting started, so it was with great anticipation and wonder that the mostly completed work was toured.

Rain threatened so the group moved through the grounds and then were ushered into a marvelous classroom structure for more information. It was a wonderful outing, and much was learned from Stephanie as she shared the work done and how our environment is affected by our water system.

The group then enjoyed a lovely lunch at Greer’s Ranch Café on the square in Stephenville as well as having an enjoyable time visiting and catching up.

The Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club is one of the oldest study clubs in Dublin and aids with the library, CWJC and more.
