Thanks to the brave

Body

Like many in our community, I want to offer up my appreciation to our first responders, many of which spent the night of June 8 fighting the fire at Dollar General or offering support to those who were.

While the majority of us were asleep in our beds, they were working to quiet the flames and ensuring that it didn’t spread any further.

When I arrived to take photos the next morning at 8 a.m. the last fire truck had barely been off the scene for two hours and Dublin Fire Marshal Tommy Shelton and Dublin PD staff were already present and watching the site to open investigation.

The dedicated men and women who keep us safe sometimes go without sleep so that we can rest easier. I also want to offer my sympathy to the staff of Dollar General. Hopefully, the store can be rebuilt soon so everyone can get back to their jobs and DG can rejoin the Dublin business community.
