Summer Reading Club is winding down and the final day to turn in reading logs is this Friday - July 19.

Those who read at least 10 picture books or one chapter book are eligible for prizes at the library’s book fair and for other prizes including a Nintendo Switch, AirPods and much more!

Readers can also ‘shop’ at the book fair to receive three free books and three prizes.

This week is also the last week of Grab N’ Go crafts featuring Dragon’s vs. Unicorns.

This Thursday at 4 p.m. there will also be a magic show.

“Join us for a magical show next week with Magic in the Library! Bronson Chadwick does a library themed magic show, which pairs perfectly with our Magic Dragons vs. Unicorns Summer Reading theme next week. We can’t wait to see what appears,” Library Director Adina Dunn said.

A dental learning event with toothbrushes and books will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25 at the library by Smile Doctor from Brownwood.

Throughout the summer supplies have been collected for the annual Back to School Fair, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27.

At the fair, participants will be able to gather toiletries, socks and underwear, along with new backpacks. Smile Doctor has donated 200 new backpacks. School supplies are being provided for the upcoming school year by Dublin ISD for all grades, therefore limited school supplies will be available.

At the BTS fair, the Lions Club and Dairy Queen will be on hand to provide snacks, and partnering organizations includingWaste Connections, Star Council, Proctor Army Corps of Engineers, Cross Timbers Family Services, Annie’s Therapeutic Companions and Dub-in Woman’s Thursday Club will be on hand. There will also be a foam machine on site for attendees to play in.

The Thursday Club has been aiding the collection of toiletry items with churches including First Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, Cottonwood, Grace Fellowship, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Green’s Creek Methodist and Green’s Creek Baptist. Anyone still wanting to donate can drop off donations at the library through July 19.

The library is also now offering Kanopy to library patrons. Each library card owner will have 15 tickets a month. Even better-kids shows and movies are UNLIMITED! The Library is located at 206 W. Blackjack. It is open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.
