Summer Reading Club is officially underway with reading logs available to pick up for both kids and adults.

Readers can log books they read in the summer month and turn in the list by July 20 for chances to win great prizes and the opportunity to claim free books. Prizes include a Nintendo Switch, AirPods and much more!

On Friday, May 24, Smokey Bear the Dublin Volunteer Fire Department will teach fire safety at 2 p.m. The Library will present a Smokey Bear Reading Challenge where kids can finish three books to earn four badges and claim a prize.

The Erath AgriLife Extension Office also issued a challenge to get outside with a bingo card for families to complete outdoor activities during the next five weeks. Bingo cards can be picked up at the library and weekly prizes can be picked up for participants.

On Thursday, May 30 at 2 p.m., Bobber the Water Safety Dog and volunteers will hand out life jackets and presenting vital information.

STAR Council will share worthwhile information and lead fun activities during Bosque Littles Camp set for 8 a.m. on both Wednesday, June 5 and Thursday, June 6.

The Creature Teacher will also return to the library on Thursday, June 6 at 4 p.m. for the popular presentation featuring many exotic critters.

_____________ Grab and Go craft activities are available every week with new assortments available each Tuesday. This week’s theme is camping. Next week’s is Water Safety.

________________ The Dublin Public Library will be closed Saturday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. However, the library will be having a yard sale of its own Saturday selling furniture and other items.

______________ The Crimes and Clues Book Club will meet Friday, June 7 at 6 p.m. to discuss “The Fury.” The meeting was delayed due to a conflict with the DHS graduation. Crimes and Clues will also be discussing “In Cold Blood” by Truman Capote on June 28 at 6 p. m.

The Saturday book club selection for June is “The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” by James McBride with discussion set for Saturday, June 29 at 1 p.m.

The Library is located at 206 W. Blackjack. Is is open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays.
