Devices

Dublin Public Library is able to provide technology to local residents thanks to some generous grants like the Emergency Connectivity Fund from the FCC, the Tech Academy program, a Digital Navigators grant and a Community Connect Grant.

Thanks to these partnerships, the library is able to offer items like hotspots to check out for people who need internet access at their home and several different devices.

The ECF has allowed the library to purchase iPads and chromebooks whcih can be checked out for a month at a time and can be checked out again as long as no one is waiting on them.

There are 20 current generation iPads available and five Hewlett Packard Chromebooks with 20 more set to be ordered.

Librarian Adina Dunn is grateful for the technology programs and what they mean to patrons.

“I’ve heard people say they’ve taken classes online and others said they have gotten jobs online,” Dunn said.
