Dear Editor,

The Jimenez and Raulston families of Dublin, Texas would like to personally express our sincerest appreciation to the first responders from Lingleville Volunteer Fire Department, the Erath County Fire and Emergency Medical Services and the Texas State Troopers for their bravery and commitment to their professions. Because of your professionalism and compassion, 17-year-old Mariah K. Jimenez’s life was saved after her horrific automobile accident on Saturday afternoon, January 16, 2021 in the 14,000 block of FM219 south of Lingleville.

We are also forever grateful to Rick Taylor of Lingleville for immediately contacting 911 and for your continued prayers and concern. It is our hope Mariah will be able to thank you in person someday soon and that you will find peace knowing you too, saved Mariah’s life.

Finally, we would also like to say thank you to the entire staff, student body and especially the Athletic Department and the FFA at Dublin High School for their kindness, support, and strength during this time. Between prayers, benefits, and commemorative days, we have felt the love you have for Mariah and it has been incredibly uplifting and a source of calm for us during these difficult days.

Mariah has suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and while making some progress, she has a long road to recovery ahead of her.

She is finally out of the coma, but it will be some time before we know the true impact of this injury on her neurological function.

It is our hope to have her moved in the coming weeks to a rehabilitation center that specializes in TBI in pediatric patients.

We are filled with gratitude by the outreach of this wonderful community we live in. Both friends and complete strangers have reached out to us to ask how they can help us during such a trying time.

We ask first and foremost, that you keep Mariah in your prayers. Additionally, if you are inclined, we have a Go Fund Me page and appreciate any help you can give Mariah at this time. We assure you 100% of the money collected will go straight to her care. You can find her page at www.gofundme. com: Mariah Jimenez Emergency Medical Funding
