(Editor’s note: the court case cited in this letter relates to an appeals trial in Washington D.C. in 2021. ProPublica reported on this stating: “Responding to a pair of lawsuits filed by the Environmental Health Trust and other activist groups, the court ruled in August 2021 that the FCC had failed to meet “even the low threshold of reasoned analysis” in finding that its limits “adequately protect against the harmful effects of exposure to radiofrequency radiation unrelated to cancer.” (The FCC had responded sufficiently to fears that wireless radiation causes cancer, the judges wrote.)” Our reporting of the City Council meeting can be found on page A1.)

Dear Fellow Citizens of Dublin, For anyone in Dublin who hasn’t heard yet, our City Council members just voted to allow a 145’ 5G cell tower to be built directly between our two schools!

At the most recent Council meeting, I presented the Council members with a Federal court case from Aug. 2021, where Federal Judges ruled that the FCC FAILED to prove that “its current guidelines adequately protect against harmful effects of exposure to radio frequency radiation”.

This Federally-ruled case is the most recent verdict regarding the 5G/ RF technology. The FCC still has yet to prove its safety claims for these towers. Broadus Services (the company wanting to install this tower between our schools) could not produce any evidence from the FCC, or anyone else, to disprove the information I provided. Keegan McInroe was the only Council member present who argued against this tower and the potential dangers it imposes to all of our kids.

(You can read this Federal case verdict at Children’sHealthDefense. org, just search FCC).

The next item the Council voted for was hiring Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins and Mott, LLP and Texas Communities Group, LLC, which are property code compliance companies. While I am an advocate for cleaning up Dublin and making the town look more visually appealing, this is not the kind, neighborly way to achieve that goal. I feel as though these issues should be handled locally, as opposed to hiring outside companies who do not genuinely care about our town or our fellow residents.

There is a major dichotomy in the two aforementioned Council decisions. They hired companies to force our residents to clean their properties, while simultaneously voting for a 5G tower that will decrease property values (and possibly our health)!

The good news is that, together, we can still stop this tower from being built! Part of the N.E.P.A process is getting public approval. Let’s all sign a petition NOT to approve it!!

Thank you for reading this info, I hope to see you all at the next City Council meeting!
