Dear Editor: “Our mother”
I want to dedicate this to our mother;
Compared to whom there is no other.
She carried us while we were being formed;
And suffered so much pain when we were born.
She was there when we tried to talk;
And weaved with us as we began to walk.
She started us out on many a golden rule; Then she sat back as we started to school.
She taught us the little pleasures in life; as she tried to help my brother and I survive.
She showed us that living can really be rough; and the only way to make it is to be tough.
We grew up fast and we learned quick; to keep us in line she used a big stick.
She gave us both a reason to live;
No matter what she was always willing to give.
She worked hard to keep us together;
And said someday things would be better.
She is worried about us for many years;
And through these has flowed a million tears.
Now we have both grown up and left home;
Both are out trying to make it on our own.
She is always in our thoughts and dreams;
More like the past and memories it seems.
Our hope is for her long deserved happiness;
And forever more to be completely blessed.
With love from two of the true ones; nobody else in the world but your sons.
