Finding a Purpose in Life

Body

Thought: Many have asked themselves these questions. “Who am I?”. “What is my purpose in life?”. How do they find their reason for living?

The key to living a purposeful life is found not in self-help books, or positive thinking messages, but in the living Word of God who wants us to win the race were on. Phill. 3:14-15 “No dear brothers, I am still not all I should be but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.”

Even before you took your first breath, God had you in mind and planned your days. Psalms 139:1516 “You were there as I was being formed in utter seclusion! You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Everyday was recorded in your Book!”

You were made with a free will to choose. You can choose to go your own way or choose God’s way. He waits for you with outstretched arms. Rev. 3:20-21 “Look, I have been standing at the door (of your heart) and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him and he with me.”

At that point you enter into God’s kingdom of light. Col.1:11-12 “We are praying, too, that you will be filled with his mighty, glorious strength so that you can keep on going no matter what happens—always full of the joy of the Lord, and always thankful to the Father who has made us to share all the wonderful things that belong to those who live in the Kingdom of Light.”

Jesus offers you a purpose for living, forgiveness and a peace that passeth all understanding. An eternal future in God’s heaven with life everlasting. It’s a simple step of faith in the One (Jesus) who gives you a life of purpose and hope. (Read all of John’s gospel).

GOD LOVES YOU. Psalms 86: 12,13 “I will give glory to your name forever, for you love me so much! You are constantly so kind! You have rescued me from deepest hell.” (Jesus died on the cross as the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of the world).

Prayer: Father God, teach me your ways. I choose to follow your plan and purpose for my life. I open that door to my heart and invite you in to be with me forever. Thank you for the forgiveness of my sins and the new hope I have of eternal life with you.

Verse: Heb. 2:14-18 “Since we God’s children, are human beings—made of flesh and blood—he became flesh and blood too by being born in human form; for only as a human being could he die and in dying break the power of the devil who had the power of death. Only in that way could he deliver those who through fear of death have been living all their lives as slaves to constant dread. And it was necessary for Jesus to be like us, his brothers so that he could be merciful to us and faithful to God in dealing with the sins of the people. For as he Himself has now been through suffering and temptation he knows what it is like when we suffer and are tempted, and he is wonderfully able to help us.
