Among pictures in this week’s edition is coverage of the local authors showcase held Saturday at the Dublin Public Library.
I’m going to take a second to brag on Librarian Adina Dunn for the work she does in securing grants and planning events for our local library.
The Saturday event is only one of many events she organized to coincide with the Summer Reading activities but they all offer entertainment and information.
I heard from several in attendance including the 12 writers gathered there that they had no clue there were so many published local authors.
There was also a large variety of subject matter including religion, local history, crocheting guides, children’s books, fantasy and true crime.
As I talked to people and took photos, I saw many of them sharing stories and lessons learned from getting their books published.
It reinforced to me the camaraderie that comes with small communities and those with shared interests and no matter how small the community, we all have our stories to tell.
