Interim Executive Director, Dublin Chamber of Commerce
Greetings, and Goodbye
Hello again to my friends and neighbors here in Dublin. I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve Dublin during this year as the Interim ED for the Chamber. However, I will be saying “see you later” as I leave this temporary role and rejoin my career in agricultural public relations.
While we all knew my time in this job was temporary, I cannot thank you enough for your support to the Chamber and our Board as we accomplished many goals for our community. We have experienced such success for our hometown, with events like the Hispanic Heritage Festival, the Country Christmas Stroll, and a St. Patrick’s Festival that attracted nearly 3,000 people. Dublin has benefited greatly fromyouractiveparticipation during the past 12 months.
You can expect these events and active support of Dublin’s business community to continue and multiply. Our passionate and invested Board of Directors, under the leadership of new Board president (and Dublin resident) Blanca Martineau of Comanche County Medical Center (CCMC), will continue to develop and hold events and activities that improve business

Managing Editor I’m usually surprised by how many people know me, but that was really true as I worked through my birthday Thursday.
In three different towns, I got in-person birthday greetings from people in a wide span of ages. I’m sure most of these came from people who saw my birthday in their Facebook feed, but it was still nice to be remembered.
The memory of some of these people was very good as they shouted my age in public p l a c e s . Thank you opportunities in Dublin.
For instance, Juanita Torres and Sandra Espinosa are again leading the committee to plan the Hispanic Heritage Festival, scheduled for Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and 2. Next, we will host the Culpepper Merriweather Circus, the Halloween Trunk or Treat, the annual Chamber Banquet, and the Country Christmas Stroll – all before end of year.
In 2023, you will see us roll out the green carpet for our Miss Dublin Ambassador pageant, host another terrific St. Patrick’s Festival, and many more exciting community activities. We will continue to promote local businesses aggressively, as we have done in the past year.
These events will only continue to be successful if we have your ongoing support, whether via your time, sponsorship dollars or influence. Please help us keep the momentum going.
My last day serving as your Chamber of Commerce ED will be Friday, Aug. 12.
The Board of Directors will be seeking candidates for the position soon, so please spread the word of the terrific opportunity here at the Chamber.
In the meantime, thank you again. I love Dublin and the people and businesses here. I am so honored to have had this opportunity. I am indeed proud to be a part of Dublin – the hometown of legends.
especially! *Grumble, grumble* All kidding aside, the anniversary of my 39th trip around Earth was good although the busy calendar meant we had a press day on Wyndi’s birthday and an active work day on my birthday on Aug. 4.
Our birthdays may have not had the pizazz of parties you have when you are a kid, but friends, family and neighbors made sure to let us know we were remembered.
That means a lot and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to find things to be grateful in my everyday life. I’ve got a lot to be thankful for on my birthday and that holds true today.
