Strawn fi nishes Cards
TheLinglevilleCardinals ended their season in Dublin on Monday night, 61-48, when they took on the Strawn Greyhounds in the first round of playoffs.
The Cardinals and Greyhounds played a tight game in the beginning, leading to a 29-26 score in Strawn’s favor at the half.
The back-and-forth continued at the beginning of the third with Lingleville claiming a 30-29 lead. Strawn immediately snatched the lead back and began to break away.
The lead had increased to 53-46 in Strawn’s favor by the start of the fourth quarter. Strawn won 61-48 in the end.
Lingleville entered into Monday’s playoff game sitting at third place in District following a Friday night loss against the Huckabay Indians to determine position.
The Cardinals started strong, claiming a 15-9 lead in the first quarter. Huckabay had claimed a 30-28 lead by the half and a 70-47 lead by the end.
These losses brought the cardinals overall season record to 20-14. They were 9-3 in District.
