Dublin High School grad Levi Bamber was all smiles as he shared his team’s results from their 16-hour drive to the IPA worlds powerlifting champion event in Bristol, Tennessee this month.

Bamber, his wife Courtney, daughter Jessa and several locals qualified for the event following record-breaking finishes the IPA Tiny Meeker Classic in Houston in April.

Seven of the eight lifters got gold in the Bristol event.

Levi was beaming as a coach and father of his daughter Jessa who lifted a total of 363 pounds in the 97 lb. 13 and under category. This resulted in a new world record in her age and division and personal record.

Courtney lifted a total of 881 lb. for a personal best and first place in the women’s 181 open division.

DHS senior Cassidy Adair lifted a personal best of 892 pounds for a first place finish in the 16-17 198 division.

DHS grad Marshall Daniels lifted a total of 1,185 pounds for a first place finish in the 165 Jr. Division.

DHS grad Adam Spharler took first in the 148 Jr. Division with a total of 997.

DHS grad Jaydyn Gonzalez lifted a total of 1,251 pounds for a personal record and gold in the 198 Jr. Division.

Levi lifted a total of 1,818 pounds in the men’s 148 open division for his first place.

Bamber was pleased with the results but admitted it was a rough meet considering the long travel time for all the lifters who piled into a Suburban to drive there.

Bamber’s crew routinely meets in the DHS weight room several times a week to train and Levi looks forward to more first place finishes for his team.
