The Lingleville ISD School Board voted to extend the superintendent’scontract and accepted a bid to finish the school’s security fence during a short regular meeting Jan. 12.
The meeting ended with a closed session in which the board conducted an evaluation of LISD Superintendent DeeCee McDougal. Upon returning to open session, the board offered McDougal a three-year contract.
The board also voted to accept a $56,548 bid to extend the security fence around the back of the elementary, completely enclosing the campus. The completion will allow “heightened security as well as improved access with the campus,” according to the agenda.
A vote was also carried to designate the bus route hazardous due to infrastructure. The annual vote is made to allow school buses to pick up students in the immediate area of the school since it is near roads with high rates of traffic and higher speed limits.
In regular reports, it was announced that enrollment stood at 284 students with a 96 % attendance rate.
