Dublin Lions logged losses to Peaster and Early last week, but head baseball coach Corde Morris is encouraged to see the players keep their heads up and fighting until the end.

“It’s encouraging to see what kids are doing,” he said. “They’re not letting things bother them like in the past.”

This is despite coming into the April 5 game at a disadvantage with multiple injuries.

Dalton Bullard stepped up for pitching relief, and Morris commended him on a good job at the mound.

Morris also reported the Lions were practicing good defense early in the game as they were only behind 1-0 entering the 4th inning. The game got away then when they gave up 7 runs, and the Lions lost 10-0.

This followed a 7-2 loss to Early on April 3 in which Kaden Gaitan and Alex Teten put in solid turns as pitcher.

Morris also noted solid plays from Ivan Phelps and Charlie Rasberry as well as Kevin Patton who returned to play and hit a double over the left fielder’s head in his first at-bat.
