The Dublin Lions return home Friday, Oct. 16 for a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Comanche Indians.
The home team is looking for a pick-meup following a 53-6 loss to the Bulldogs in Hamilton, who advanced to 3A this year after winning the 2A state championship in 2025.
Paxton Loper and Daniel Velazquez split quarterback duties with Loper passing for 85 yards and Velazquez passing for 100. Offensively, Hudsen Joslin led in receiving with 74 yards.
Kaden Gaitan and Joe Salinas led in defense with seven tackles each. (Salinas also completed an interception and score the sole TD for Dublin.)
Joslin, Matthew Hamilton and Osvaldo Sandoval each had three tackles and Jor McKeithen stopped the ball with a sack during Friday night’s play.
The Lions’ bench is bolstered with a number of JV players who are getting their chance under the Friday night lights after injuries have taken some of the Lions off the field. Head coach/athletic director Greg Hardcastle said Comanche builds it offense on protecting some versatile allarounders and is active on defense. The Lions are working hard in practice so they can keep up the pace.
