Dublin varsity ended the summer league play with a close loss to Brownwood and a bow to Santo that was decided in the final seconds. “I thought our guys played hard,” said Grisham. “We had some guys really step up into their roles and played with confidence. Those last two games didn’t end how we wanted but we got to work situational game strategies which is critical for the real season.”

“They got to run the plays they wanted and took the shots they drew up,” he added. “It’s fun watching them coach themselves and grow from it.”

The JV Black team ended with victories over Huckabay JV and Bluff Dale JV.

Dublin Green went 1-1, defeating Santo JV and falling to Brownwood JV.

“The younger guys did a great job playing this summer and getting some team chemistry going along with learning each other’s strengths,” Grisham said. “They got to acknowledge their weaknesses and hopefully they work on it this summer to be close to their prime at season’s start.”
