The Dublin Lions are now 3-1 for the season following a 38-12 victory over Brady in an away game Friday night, building off the 21-14 win against Anson the week before.

“The kids played really well,” said Lions head football coach and athletic director Greg Hardcastle who said that the team had to make some midweek adjustments to their defensive game but that the Lions adapted quickly.

“We were fortunate to get some conversions early in the game and we didn’t turn the ball over once,” he said. “If you get more than you give, that’s an indication you’re going to do well.”

Quarterback Chris Teten had 341 yards in passing and added one touchdown in rushing.

Christian Ramirez received for 100 yards during the game, including a long 64-yard touchdown run. He also went 5 for 5 in PAT kicks and fulfilled a field goal attempt.

Dalan Rasberry brought in touchdowns of own and Mosiah Lolohea added another.

Defensively, Cameron Patton and Javier Parra led with eight tackles, Noah Thompson had 6 and Lolohea and Colton Moore had 4.

The Lions will play San Saba Friday night in their homecoming game. Although San Saba is 0-4, Coach Hardcastle said the visitors should up a fight as they have been strong in recent years and throw the ball close to 50 times per game. “We’re going to have to put some pressure on the quarterback,” he said.

The homecoming king will be crowned in a community pep rally Friday morning at 8:15 a.m. on the Bob and Norma Cervetto Field. The Queen will be crowned at 7 p.m. prior to the 7:30 p.m. kick off.
