Girls end Eastland’s streak

Dublin had another winning week, this time spoiling Eastland’s seven-game undefeated streak. The Lady Lions are 6-2 now, still tied for second in District with Hamilton, who they will face on Saturday.

The 3-1 victory over Eastland, started with big back-to-back wins for Dublin, 25-17 and 25-20.

Eastland scored a narrow 25-23 third-set win, but the Lady Lions roared back for a 25-19 finish.

The team got a whopping 41 kills, led by Kaylee Smith with nine. Bailey Noel, Maeleigh Geijsel and Addison Stout hit eight kills each.

Kylie Curtoys made 22 assists, six aces, 14 digs and two kills.

Yakelin Morantes led in digs with 21 and served 15 times with no errors.

Jordyn Ricks added 13 digs, five kills and 10 assists.

Noel and Stout also added 2 aces each, and Stout made 10 digs.

Morantes and Camry Porter each served 15 times without an error.

Geijsel also hit two blocks.

Dublin 3, Comanche 0

Dublin swept Comanche in three, including a very exciting second set, 25-8, 37-35 and 25-22.

Ricks and Geijsel led in kills with 7 each.

Curtoys set 15 assists. Porter served 2 aces.

Morantes grabbed 28 digs.
