BROWNWOOD
GOOD. Water stained; 85 degrees; 2.94 feet below pool. Black bass catches up to 6.77 pounds are Fair on Hag’s cyclone craw in Juice Box on the ledges, or with shaky heads in 6-20 feet in the habitats around the main lake and points. Crappie are fair around docks with brush on minnows in 12-18 feet. White bass to 12 inches are fair on crappie jigs, trolling crankbaits. There is some schooling action throughout the lake. Catfish are fair with catches up to 10 pounds on prepared bait on baited holes. Many reports of drum catches. Water level is starting to slowly decline.
GRANBURY
GOOD. Water stained; 87 degrees; 0.11 feet below pool. Granbury water levels are close to normal. Water temperatures are in the middle to upper 80s and are increasing with the forecasted hot weather. Thermoclines have been changing due to the rain, but should be back in place this week with the hot weather. Striped bass fishing continues to be fair to good with catches up to 12 pounds on live bait or trolled jigs and crankbaits on the lower ends. Sand bass schools are chasing bait early and late and the trolled HellPet spoon combination is deadly. Largemouth bass are slow to fair on crankbaits and soft plastics near main lake points and near deeper docks. Crappie are fair to good on small minnows and jigs fished midlake near submerged timber in about 15-20 feet down. Catfish continue to be better at night on cut bait fished near channel entrances on many areas of the lake. An occasional big blue or yellow catfish are possible.
POSSUM KINGDOM GOOD. Water stained; 88 degrees; 0.20 feet below pool. Striper are fair to good in 30-70 feet of water. Live bait is still consistently putting fish in the boat, but white and silver spoons are putting a few fish in the boat. Downriggers are not catching fish at the moment with guys trolling all day and only catching 1-3 fish. Sand bass are still slow in 20-30 feet of water with live shad, small slabs. and jigs in white, and silver.
PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 85 degrees; 2.88 feet below pool. Fishing is slow for all species. Catfish are good on rod-and-reel or jug lines in deep water.
WEATHERFORD
FAIR. Water heavily stained; 85 degrees; 2.03 feet below pool. Triple digits in the forecast, so fish early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the fish are more active. Catfish are good along the rocks with punch bait and shad. Crappie are slow with mostly undersized catches on jigs or minnows in the brush piles. Bass are slow on deeper water ledges with crankbaits and soft plastics.
