BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 87-89 degrees; 7.08 feet below pool. Black bass to 6.88 pounds are good on shaky heads, swimbaits and glides in 4-12 feet of water early and late in the day. Crappie are slow in 10-12 feet of water fishing minnows in brush piles and around docks. White bass are fair to 1.25 pounds on jigs and small moving baits and under the lights. Catfish are slow to 3 pounds on jug lines using prepared and cut bait.

GRANBURY

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 86-92 degrees; 0.94 feet below pool. Thermocline is generally in the 20 foot range. Despite the soaring heat, big striped bass to 12 pounds are possible on live bait and downrigging jigs. Best striped bass action is from Decordova to Blue Water Shores. Look for some topwater action early for striped bass and largemouth bass.

POSSUM KINGDOM

FAIR. Water clear; 85-90 degrees; 1.56 feet below pool. Striped bass are fair to good in 30-40 feet of water trolling with chartreuse and white lures, but live shad continues to be the preferred tactic. Sand bass are fair using white and chartreuse slabs or small live bait in 20-35 feet of water. Catfish are good using cut shad fished on or near bottom in 2-15 feet of water. Water clarity is steady around 5-15 feet of visibility.

PROCTOR

FAIR. Water stained; 86-89 degrees; 12.15 feet below pool. Check ramps status before heading out. Catfish are good with cheese bait in deeper water. Crappie are fair on brush piles.

WEATHERFORD

SLOW. Water stained; 90 degrees; 8.36 feet below pool. Fishing continues to be slow for all species until the weather cools. Crappie are slow with mostly undersized catches on main lake points. Catfish are slow to fair with a few catches on the rocks near the dam. Bass are slow in deeper water.

WHITNEY

GREAT. Water lightly stained; 87 degrees; 7.21 feet below pool. Striper limits continue to be common fishing with live bait from Mccown to the Island. Largemouth bass are excellent on bluff drop offs near major creek entrances.
