Body

BROWNWOOD 

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 87-89 degrees; 6.78 feet below pool. Black bass to 6.87 pounds are good on shaky heads, crankbaits and soft plastic worms in 4-12 feet of water early and later in the day. Crappie are slow in brush piles and around the docks on minnows in 8-12 feet of water. White bass are fair to 1.00 pound schooling around the dam mid morning and late afternoon on jigs and small moving baits. Catfish are slow to 6 pounds on jug lines with prepared and cut bait.

GRANBURY

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 86-92 degrees; 0.80 feet below pool. The heat continues and the thermocline continues to be relatively shallow in 15-20 feet of water in most areas of the lake. Sand bass are schooling early near the Pecan launch and near Decordova. Striped bass to 10 pounds continue to be caught on live bait and downrigging jigs or crankbaits on the lower ends near channel ledges. Crappie catches continue to be excellent on minnows and jigs when located suspended on structure. Underwater timber or bridge pilings are popular. Nighttime catfish are good on prepared and cut baits throughout the lake. Largemouth bass to 7 pounds are good on shaded docks, shallow humps and points on crankbaits and soft plastics.

POSSUM KINGDOM

FAIR. Water clear; 86-93 degrees; 1.20 feet below pool. Striper fishing is fair in 25-35 feet of water trolling with chartreuse and white slabs, but live bait is the preferred tactic. Sand bass are fair using slabs or small live bait in 20-30 feet of water. White and chartreuse are good colors. Catfish are good using cut shad fished on or near bottom in 2-15 feet of water. Water clarity is staying around 5-15 feet of visibility.

PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 86-89 degrees; 11.78 feet below pool. Sowell Creek Boat ramp is the only ramp open. Catfish are good with cheese bait in deeper water. Crappie are fair on brush piles.

WEATHERFORD

SLOW. Water stained; 88 degrees; 8.57 feet below pool. Fishing continues to be slow for all species. Crappie are slow with mostly undersized catches on main lake points. Catfish are slow to fair with a few catches on the rocks near the dam. Bass are slow in deeper water.

WHITNEY

GREAT. Water lightly stained; 87 degrees; 7.00 feet below pool. Striper limits continue to be common fishing with live bait from the State Park to Katy Bridge.
