Body

BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 87-89 degrees; 5.83 feet below pool. Black bass to 6.64 pounds are good on shaky heads, glide baits, crankbaits and soft plastic worms in 5-18 feet of water. Crappie are fair in brush piles on jigs and on minnows around the docks in 10-13 feet of water. White bass are fair to 1.00 pounds in the lights or schooling on jigs and minnows. Catfish are good to 5 pounds on jug lines and trotlines using perch and cut bait.

GRANBURY

FAIR. Water lightly stained; 86-92 degrees; 0.28 feet below pool. Water temperatures are in the upper 80s to low 90ss and there is no sign of relief on the way. Thermocline is present at 15-20 feet down on most main lake areas on Granbury. Despite the hot water and temperatures, the fishing continues to be good to excellent for striped bass. Striped bass to 10 pounds are possible on the lower ends using live bait or trolling jigs with curly tail trailers in white or chartreuse. Sand bass are slow to fair on slabs, spinnerbaits and trolled pet spoons. Look for schooling sand bass near Decordova and Indian Harbor early and late in the day. Largemouth bass to 6 pounds are good on crankbaits and Texas rigged worms worked on shallow humps and near shaded docks.

POSSUM KINGDOM

FAIR. Water clear; 86-90 degrees; 0.33 feet below pool. Striper fishing continues to be good in 20-40 feet of water with live bait or trolling with white, chartreuse, yellow and red lures. Sand bass are fair, on the move and not slowing down for anything when they are found. Fish can come up and school at any time, so be prepared with a topwater tied on. White and silver are good colors. Catfish are slow to fair on live shad, cut shad, and cut carp un 2-15 feet of water or in heavy cover that is in 20-30 feet of water. Water clarity is 6-15 feet of water.

PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 86-89 degrees; 10.72 feet below pool. Catfish are good with cheese bait in deeper water. Crappie are fair on brush piles.

WEATHERFORD

SLOW. Water stained; 88 degrees; 8.32 feet below pool. Fishing is slow for all species while the water temperature is hot. Crappie are slow with mostly undersized catches on main lake points. Catfish are slow to fair with a few catches on the rocks near the dam. Bass are slow in deeper water.

WHITNEY

GREAT. Water lightly stained; 85 degrees; 5.58 feet below pool. Striped bass limits continue to be caught on live or cut bait on channel ledges in 20-30 feet of water. Some topwater action is available.
