The Lingleville Cardinals and Lady Cards conquered all competitors last week as the ladies end their season on triumphant note and the boys figh their way into play-offs.
The Lingleville girls ended their season Tuesday with a 37-33 home victory against the Rising Star Wildcats.
The win was thanks in part to strong scoring by Ivy Aikman, who scored 22 points; Mayrany Flores, who added 6 points; and Kaylee Kelcy, who contributed
This win followed 61-26 homecoming victory against the Bluff Dale Bobcats.
This win was bolstered by strong scoring from: Flores, who added 24 points; Aikman, who scored 13; and Jordyn Hicks and Tenlee Kelcy, who each put 7 points on the scoreboard.
The Lingleville Cardinals are currently sitting at third place in district after a pair of wins Tuesday and Friday.
The Cardinals came out to an early lead in their 64-32 home triumph over the Rising Star Wildcats.
By the end of the first half, the Cards had racked up 40 points to Rising Star’s 16.
This victory followed a 76-40 homecoming win over the Bluff Dale Bobcats which also saw the home team leap to an early lead. (At the half, Lingleville had put up 39 to Bluff Dale’s 20.)
The Friday night victory was thanks in part to solid scoring by: Ivan Rangel, who scored33 that night; Luke Miller, who added 14 to the board; and Felipe Flores, who contributed 9 points.
The cards are currently third after the wins and Huckabay’s loss Tuesday night.
The Cardinals have a chance to tie for second place if they defeat Huckabay when they face them Friday at 6 p.m. in the home gym.
