Boys fifth at invitational

Dublin took fifth place at the Texas Bank Holiday Classic in Brownwood over the weekend.

They ended with a win over San Saba, 70-38. They also defeated San Angelo’s homeschool team, 80-57, and Llano, 68-50. In that game, Jacob Stanley added 28 points with 13 rebounds, three steals and an assist.

Angel Ramirez scored 19 points with five rebounds, five steals and seven assists. Jacob Seals made 14 rebounds, three steals and an assist. He scored 8 points. Blake Porter scored 9 points with eight rebounds and two assists. Joe Leos added 7 points with two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Jordan Mullin scored 5 points, with a steal, a rebound and an assist. Cy Wing added 2 points and three assists. Hunter Craddock added 2 points and three rebounds with a steal and a assist.

The team, which is averaging 71 points per game, only lost to 4A Midland Greenwood, 78-51. Blake Porter sank 29 points against Greenwood with 20 rebounds. He is averaging nearly 18 points a game so far this season.

Seals added 8 points with three rebounds, a steal and an assist. Ramirez sank 6 points with four steals and three assists. Stanley sank 5 points with three rebounds and two steals. Cy Wing added 2 points and two steals.

The Lions, who are now 12-5 for the season, will host Early to resume District play on Friday (1/4) at 8 p.m.
