Beulah Ada Holt

Beulah Ada Holt (Stratton) made her appearance in Temple, Texas on March 24, 1944, to Ruby (Anderson) and E.C. Stratton. Her mother, Ruby, left Beulah while she was still a young girl, and she later gained a loving stepmother, Velma (Calder) Stratton, and grew up in Dublin, Texas. She passed away March 17, 2024.

Beulah was a loving wife to George Holt, who preceded her in death on June 5, 2020. Their love story began in DeLeon, Texas where they met at the Peach and Melon Festival. We know Beulah was instantly smitten, but George knew he couldn’t let her get away so he filled her front yard with watermelons to be certain she was hooked and would wait for him as he began his service to the United States Air Force. After George’s tour in Alaska, Beulah married the love of her life on October 27, 1961.

Beulah served our country as well, as a loving military wife, and traveled around the world with George as their family began to grow. They raised four children: Tony, Edward, Deborah, and Diana. After George retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service to his country, the family settled in Dublin, Texas, where they supported their children and community for many years to come.

Beulah worked as a Secretary for Dublin Independent School District, where her never ending love and dedication was shared with every teacher and child that walked through the doors of the school.

She would greet everyone with a beautiful smile and was sure to take care of every single person she interacted with.

Beulah retired in 1997 to spend time at home with her family and help care for her new grandbaby. She enjoyed all types of crafting in her spare time and was remarkably talented at quilting and crocheting. She created many pieces of beautiful work that her family will cherish, as her love overflowed into anything and everything she touched. Her ultimate calling in life was to care for those she loved, and those she has left behind have no doubt in how much she loved each and every one of her family and friends. She took pride in her role as “Granny” and had an immeasurable impact in the lives of her grandchildren. She was proud to have welcomed her two greatgrandbabies to the world, two-year-old Stella Iris and five-month-old Evelyn Rose.

Beulah is remembered by her friends and family as a sweet soul, who always had a smile on her face, and inspired everyone around her to spread positivity and love.

She has now been reunited with those who preceded her in death including her loving husband, George Holt, her parents, Ruby Stratton, and E.C. and Velma Stratton, as well as her brother, Ronnie Stratton.

She is survived by her brothers, Edward and Alta (her beloved and cherished sister-in-law) Stratton of San Antonio, Texas, and Melvin “Burl” Stratton of Arkansas; her children, Tony, Deborah, Diana, and Edward and Bonnie Holt, all of Dublin; grandchildren, Sean Brinson of Irving, Texas, and Ian and Cheyenne Mack of Junction, Texas. She is also survived by two greatgrandchildren, Stella and Evelyn Mack, of Junction, Texas, as well as many other nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

She will be missed by all who knew her and remembered in every crochet stitch and act of kindness she inspired.
