Revitalize Dublin is calling all volunteers to help a local family as they work on the second project this Saturday (Nov. 4) at 8 a.m.
This project centers on wrapping and installing siding and underpinning on a residence at 432 N. Park.
“They don’t have anything to block the wind from coming in this winter,” said project coordinator Tori Estrada. “They have a lot of kids so it’s important to get this done.”
Revitalize Dublin is asking for as many hands as possible to help with this and Estrada said the goal is to do the work in a day, but it will depend on the number of people who show up to help.
Volunteers are also asked to bring the following materials to help in the work: hammers, saws, drills, measuring tape, levels and work gloves.
Estrada said one of their biggest needs is someone with a dump trailer to handle the old siding being removed.
She reported that the community is stepping up for the project with many donations, including several through Cottonwood Church members, being offered so the work can be done. An electrician is even donating his time to rewiring the home.
Estrada said the new group that charges people with ‘being the change they want to see’ could benefit from professional volunteers like electricians and plumbers to help maximize efforts within the community. She reported she has been having difficulty even finding someone to construct a ramp for a Dublin resident who needs one.
“We’re just trying to help as many people as we can,” Estrada said. “That is dependent on getting as many people involved as possible.”
