It has been said it takes a village, and to get students prepared for the upcoming school year, Dublin citizens are being asked to help at this year’s annual Back-to-School Fair.

The Dublin Public Library will be hosting its Back-to-School Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 29 at the library.

“I want to thank everyone for their kindness and support for this event. The main goal is to help the kids go back to school with confidence and be ready to learn, and with everyone’s contributions I believe we will be successful,” Library Director Adina Dunn said.

There will be a variety of give-a-ways at the event including back packs, gift cards, basic hygiene items and children’s books. All items are first come first serve and a child must be present in order to receive the give-a-ways.

There will also be free hot dogs and ice cream, a foam machine and a touch-a-truck experience.

Registration for the event will begin at 11 a.m., basic hygiene items will be given away at 11 a.m., ice cream and hot dogs are being served starting at 11:30 a.m. and at noon, the backpacks will be given away.

Limited school supplies will be available since Dublin ISD is providing all needed school supplies for all students.

The library is currently taking donations for the event including backpacks, basic hygiene items, new socks and undergarments and donations to purchase hair cut gift cards.

Volunteers are also needed at the event and prior to the event. Those wanting to volunteer can call 254- 445-4141.
