Martineau, Mitchell elected to ISD board

Incumbent Bill Rodriguez was ousted by a narrow margin during the May 6 Dublin Independent School District school board election.

According to unofficial voting results released by Erath County Elections, candidate Ryan Mitchell received 108 votes (34.84%), incumbent Blanca Martineau received 104 votes (33.55%) and Rodriguez received 98 votes (31.61%).

The top two vote-getters were elected to the board.

Though this race was the only thing on the ballot for Dublin voters, in Stephenville there was both a school board and city council race.

For Stephenville City Council, Place 1, unopposed candidate LeAnn Durfey was elected with 676 votes (100%). In Stephenville City Council Place 3, unopposed candidate Lonn Reisman was elected with 690 votes (100%).

In Stephenville City Council Place 5, Maddie Smith was elected to the board with 592 votes (67.58%) and Justin Slawson received 284 votes (32.42%).

For Stephenville City Council Place 7, unopposed candidate Brandon Greenhaw received 685 votes (100%). For Stephenville ISD trustee, Place 6, Ben McCleery was elected with 645 votes (56.83%) while Rita Cook received 490 votes (43.17%). For Stephenville ISD trustee, Place 7, unopposed candidate Donny Hill was elected to the seat with 847 votes (100%).

The voter turnout for the election was 5.48%. Results remain unofficial until results are canvassed.
