March 28
There was a report of three dogs coming in and out of a house in the 800 block of Preston with a door being wide open. An officer made scene and tried to make contact with the owner but they were not home. The officer secured the door and was going to follow up with the owner.
There was a report of a minor vehicle accident in the 300 block of North Patrick. No injuries were reported.
There was a caller requesting a call back for information on the city ordinance for dogs on chains.
A caller stated that her 13 year old son was out of control and hit her. An officer made the scene to speak with both the mother and the son, no injuries. They both agreed to cooperate with each other and figure out a solution for their relationship and how to resolve their problems.
A reporting person on East Burnett and Shamrock stated she was stuck in a hole. An officer arrived finding they had backed into a ditch and could not get out. The officer and other citizens helped get the vehicle out.
A reporting person in the 200 block of North Grafton advised neighbors had a small dog on a chain with no food, water or shelter. Officers spoke with the owner about the chain law and the owner agreed to find a different restraint and to bring the dog inside until they can figure something else out.
March 29
A reporting person came to the police station to try to find his girlfriend who was reportedly on a bus from Round Rock to Abilene where he was supposed to pick her up. Officer spoke with reporting person and he advised he only speaks to her through a Whatsapp text, has never met her in person and he has sent her money. The officer did an investigation on the phone number, spoke with the person connected to that number and they failed to cooperate. Officer told the reporting person that this was most likely a scam.
An officer on close patrol on a building check observed an open gate at Bovine Supply. The officer checked the building, outside and secured the gate.
March 30
An officer was out with a male individual on Highland on foot stating he needed a ride back to the hotel due to him just having surgery. The officer gave him a ride back to the hotel.
Dublin PD was notified by a female of a sexual assault committed by a known assailant.
March 31
A reporting person in the 200 block of Hurt Street advised their neighbor’s car horn had been going off for 30 minutes and no one was occupying the vehicle. Officer made contact with the owner and they advised it was not locked and it goes off. Officer locked the vehicle.
There was a burglary alarm that activated on a bedroom window. An officer made the scene and the resident accidentally set it off when she opened the window.
Shots were fired near the 400 block of Live Oak according to a reporting person. Officers search the area, asked several other neighbor’s and nothing was heard. No suspicious activity was heard.
April 1
A reporting person in the 300 block of Trowbridge advised the neighbor called him to let him know someone was behind his shipping container. A Black SUV was spotted driving by after the owner showed up, nothing was missing or damaged. An officer located the vehicle, conducted a traffic stop and they advised they were private investigators. The officer spoke with their boss to confirm. The two received a criminal trespass from the property.
There was a property dispute on Briarwood. Officers informed both parties this will be civil and to speak with code enforcement.
A reporting person advised her friend told her that the police stopped her while walking the dogs because someone called stating she was bothering someone. An officer spoke with the reporting party and she was advised that no officer stopped to talk to her friend.
April 2
There was a follow up investigation in the 2000 block of East Blackjack.
