The Bosque River Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 in the first Presbyterian Church of Stephenville.
The chapter will celebrate San Jacinto Day, April 21, 1836 when the Army of the Republic of Texas led by General Sam Houston defeated the Mexican Army which was led by Santa Anna. This is one of 13 Honor Days recognized by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Chapter President Jane Klein will report on the Grand Opening of the Republic of Texas History Center in Austin which took place March 25.
The new building, located at 810 San Marcus Street, is the headquarters of the national organization of DRT and also the site of the DRT history museum and family research facility.
The chapter will elect officers to serve a two year term.
Plans will be made to attend the national convention in Galveston on May 4-6.
