Story Time is beginning at the Dublin Public Library at 10 a.m. Thursdays starting Feb. 2.

For children age birth through 5 years old. Meet in the children’s room for songs, stories and bubbles.

Elk’s Lodge to host Daddy/Daughter dance The Stephenville Area Elks Lodge will he hosting a King and Princess Father daughter dance 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Station (825 N. Patrick Street) in Dublin.

Tickets are $20 and cookies and punch will be provided.

A photographer will be available at the event and photos are $5 each.

Valentine Dinner pickup hosted by elks The Stephenville Area Elks Lodge will he hosting a Valentine’s dinner for two event, Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Dinner is $50 and includes steak, potatoes and salad with dessert for two.

Pick-up will be from 5-7 p.m. on Valentine’s Day at the Elk’s Lodge (1560 W. Hyman in Stephenville) and orders must be placed by Friday, Feb. 10.

Crow Opera House Historical Exhibit opens The Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council is hosting a exhibit on the Crown Opera House from now until Jan. 31.

The gallery is open at 148 W. College Street in Stephenville.

Bluff Dale Garden Club Chili Cook-off The Bluff Dale Study & Garden Club will be hosting a scholarship fundraising chili cook-off at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Bluff Dale Community Center (Fire Hall).

Registration is 4:30-5 p.m. and the cost is $10 per pot.

Judging starts at 5 p.m. with awards for first, second and third and a people’s choice award.

Any kind of chili is allowed other than anything with nuts or seafood. Chili must be cooked at home and brought in a crock pot with a serving spoon.

The event is open to the general public with donations.

Stephenville hosts Daddy daughter dance A Daddy Daughter Disco, an annual event hosted at the Recreation Hall, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9. The event includes a catered dinner, photo booth and dancing.

Tickets are $10 per parent/guardian and $8 per daughter. Limited tickets are available through Stephenville Parks and Rec.

Master Gardener training on tap

Sign up now for master gardener training, classes begin Feb. 2.

The training includes 50+ hours of instruction covering Earth-Kind landscaping, plant pathology, water and soil types, entomology, rainwater harvesting, and growing, vegetables, flowers, shrubs, and trees.

When: First class – Feb 2, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., subsequent classes through mid April.
