Dublin sales tax collections were up substantially in November, at 15.92% higher compared to November 2021, according to the state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month.
For the month of November 2022, Dublin received $46,210.98 compared to $39,863.49 in November 2021.
(Sales tax reports generally reflect sales from two months prior as the local sales are reported to the state which processes them and disburses sales tax back to the local entities.)
During this sales tax period, both Black Friday and Shop Local/ Small Business Saturday campaigns were held, helping to add to the sales tax coffers.
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar recently said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.93 billion in December, 10.5 percent more than in December 2021. The majority of December sales tax revenue is based on sales made in November and remitted to the agency in December.
“Business spending continued to be the principal driver of growth in sales tax revenue, with rapid growth in receipts from non-retail sectors,” Hegar said. “The mining, construction, wholesale trade, and rental and leasing sectors had double-digit gains compared with a year ago, and receipts from the manufacturing sector remain robust as well.
