The Christmas season is upon us and Dublin is sure to be bustling with the holiday season this Saturday with a parade, shopping opportunities, an outdoor Christmas movie and more.
The Dublin Chamber of Commerce is hosting ‘Dublin December to Remember’ on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2-9 p.m.
A holiday market with Dublin Market Days vendors will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. in Wright Park.
There will be food vendors from 2 to 7:30 p.m. in downtown Dublin.
Those looking for an opportunity for Photos with Santa can find him at Grafton Center from 3-5 p.m. and cookie decorating will also take place at the center located at 112 S. Grafton.
Dublin’s annual lighted Christmas Parade will be downtown at 6 p.m.
The deadline to register for the parade is Dec. 8 and registration can be done through the chamber.
The Dublin Public Library will be hosting a Movie Under the Stars showing ‘The Polar Express’ starting at 7 p.m. In the event of rain, the movie will be cancelled.
Many downtown shops and stores in Dublin will be hosting sales during Saturday’s event and will also be open late.
“We all love Dublin and we are super excited and happy for all our local businesses to have their doors wide open for all those who will attend the event. We are also all small business owners to come downtown and share their goods, talents and the spirit of Christmas with us,” Chamber President Blanca Martineau said.
Things Celtic will be hosting Father Christmas and the sounds of Christina Anderson with the harp and the violin from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Dublin.
The Dublin Public Library is also planning to serve up holiday treats downtown as a fundraiser.
There will also be a book signing at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at the newly opened Blackjack Office Center in downtown Dublin. Laura Conner Kestner and Sheryl Reed Rascher are scheduled to sign their books and offer copies for purchasing.
Kestner is the author of the Moccasin Rock Series and recently completed the series with A Texas Secret. The previous three books will also be available for readers who have not already completed those. Rascher is the author of Erath County (Images of America).
