Come Sip, Snack, Shop and Stroll Downtown Thursday Dec. 9!

Thursday’s events will be spectacular as Dublin hosts its inaugural Dublin Country Christmas Stroll. More than 30 vendors will be selling from 4 to 8 p.m.; downtown shops and museums will stay open late; t h e Lighted Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. and Santa will visit with kiddos immediately afterward. Thursday promises to provide a warm environment of community and joy.

A new feature to this year’s Christmas festivities will be the “Hallmark-movie-esque” live Christmas tree lot at Wright Park, across from the Dublin Library. Country Flower Plant Farm will be bringing some of its more than 200 live Oregon trees to town for visitors to walk through and possibly purchase. They’ll be selling at Wright Park until end of day Sunday, Dec. 12.

Thank You, Country Flower Plant Farm

In addition to bringing its live Christmas tree lot to town, the folks at Country Flower Plant Farm have volunteered to provide lighting for the downtown area. When you enter the winter wonderland of downtown Dublin, take note of the many beautiful Christmas decorations. Be sure to stop by their place between Dublin and Stephenville on Hwy 67/377 and check out their full inventory. From beautiful poinsettias to lighted displays to those awesome live Christmas trees, they can help light up your Christmas décor in a big way.

Get Your Santa Photo After the Parade

After the parade concludes, join the crowds and take your photos with Santa. Photos may be taken for free, or you can choose to buy your photo from the Chamber of Commerce. Photos will be available to purchase at $10 for a 4”x6”, and $2 per emailed or texted image.

We Couldn’t Do It Without the Corner Lot Gang

We cannot neglect to express our appreciation for the Corner Lot Gang. This volunteer group works tirelessly to build and maintain a community gathering place. Those beautiful lights and displays at the Corner Lot do not get there by accident, and they are not placed there by well-paid professionals. No, they are voluntarily put up and maintained by folks like Steve and Donna Hightower of Dublin Insurance and Titan Fitness; Ike Wade and Patty Hirst Wade of Ike Wade Bookkeeping; and Tom Gordon.

These volunteers and several others pay for the materials to create the display, too. So be sure to look for the donation buckets this year and contribute some hardearned cash to help keep those lights in working order. And please don’t forget to tell these folks thank you.

Kudos to Little Authors

I would be remiss if I did not point out the extra effort the folks at Little Authors have taken to bring more folks to downtown Dublin and to contribute to a remarkable atmosphere for our community’s young people. The Gobble Wobble prior to Thanksgiving and the Kids’ First entrepreneurial fair were a huge success. Thank you, Little Authors, for what you’re doing for Dublin!
